Tim Hicks – one of Canada’s most dynamic country artists will hit the stage in Tim Hortons Field’s South Plaza this Labour Day Monday to make a very special appearance at the free admission concert presented by Supercrawl. Hicks, a JUNO Award nominee and CCMA Award winning entertainer, will join McMaster’s own Of Gentleman & Cowards and Hamilton native Terra Lightfoot, to perform at the inaugural WeatherTech Football Day concert in Hamilton on Monday, September 5. The open to the public concert, which starts at approximately 3:30 p.m., does not require a McMaster or Tiger-Cats game ticket to attend and enjoy.
WeatherTech Football Day in Hamilton is an entire afternoon and evening of football, music and fan festivities coming to Tim Hortons Field on Labour Day. The day kicks off at 12 noon with the McMaster Marauders and Toronto Varsity Blues battling it out on the turf at Tim Hortons Field. Following the Marauders game at approximately 3:30 p.m., the free admission concert, with a special appearance by Tim Hicks, gets underway from the South Plaza outside of Pioneer Gate (Gate 1) off of Cannon St. The South Plaza at Tim Hortons Field, which doesn’t require a football ticket to enter, is fully licensed, with food and beverage available for purchase. Stick around in the South Plaza after the concert and watch the main event, the Labour Day Classic, featuring rival football clubs the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Toronto Argonauts at 6:30 p.m. on the largest high definition outdoor videoboard in Canada.
